More TEKKEN 8 News and a quality of life update for TEKKEN 7
PL: We are getting a new quality of life update for TEKKEN 7 and what stands out to me the most STREAMING MODE. This mode allows you to change your name display to that of the character you are using to mask yourself from anyone you play against to see who they are playing against.
A great option for players that just want to focus on playing and enjoying TEKKEN. This will cut down on hate messages, seeing offensive names and harassment in general.
100% nothing wrong with that and it is dope that they put the option in. It is awesome for TEKKEN 7 to continue to receive love and with TEKKEN 8 on the way. Shout outs once again to the team. More details are below.
Streaming Mode? New customization items? Character panels?
We’ve got all that and more in the latest #TEKKEN7 patch 🔥

Heads up 🚨 Replays from previous versions won’t work after this update due to system changes.

Heat System Concerns

PL: As the Tekken community eagerly anticipates the release of Tekken 8, many players have voiced their concerns about the game’s new “Heat” system. This mechanic, which was revealed in a recent trailer, allows players to force offense and put the opponent on the defense. It looks like you cancel off a normal to continue your pressure. How it fully works hasn’t been revealed quite yet but they did let us know it is NOT tied to the Rage mechanics and Rage Arts are also back. There are also multiple ways to enter the Heat state and its not tied to just one way of activation.
While some players are excited about the added depth and strategy that the Heat system could bring to the game, others are worried that it could dumb down the games strategy. Many are calling on TEKKEN team to carefully consider the implementation of this system and address any potential issues before the game’s release.
This could lead to a situation where matches are decided more by a player’s ability to use Heat than by their full skill and strategy in TEKKEN.
Players were concerned about Paul’s hair but the developers were happy to us know you can expect his original hair to exist via customization. They reminded us this isn’t the 1st time we’ve seen Paul with a different hairstyle. Citing Tekken 4.

There might be a bit of an overreaction to Heat though. We haven’t received all of the details yet.
PL: Despite these concerns, many in the Tekken community are still excited for the release of Tekken 8 and are looking forward to seeing how the Heat system will impact the game. The developers at Bandai Namco go over the players concerns and give a bit more details of the Heat System but not everything as the want to save the best for later.
Below is a recap of TEKKEN’s 8 2nd Trailer.
#TEKKEN8 2nd Trailer Recap Panel:
1. Jun Kazama is BACK, canon, and was never dead. She was just missing.
2. Jun’s early concept art shown, but Jun’s design itself, was done by Mari Shimazaki!
3. Destruction of Battle Stages will still be an important element in TEKKEN 8.
4. Rage Arts remain – and if you were worried about Paul’s hair don’t worry, you’ll be able to customize it to the old style.
5. Heat system will be initiated by certain moves and other ways as well to be revealed later!
6. Forget the rumors, side-steps/side-walking is in #TEKKEN8 – it’s a 3D fighting game.
7. There will not be a release date announced at finals, but @mykeryu says we will try to prepare something special still for fans there in February!

PL: If we get a beta test for TEKKEN 8 I will be super happy. My birthday is also in February (The 10th) so I will accept it as a birthday present!

PL: MultiVersus is about to go through a BIG change! I’m looking forward to seeing the effects of the hitbox changes.
PL: Capcom gave us more peaks at the newest additions to the cast of Street Fighter 6. Below you will see Manon, Marisa, Deejay & JP.
As a grappler, Manon’s graceful movements allow some of her normals to draw in opponents, keeping them close for a victory worthy of a standing ovation. 🩰

True to her heritage, Marisa is an imposing force who has no trouble approaching opponents. She can even break through a Drive Impact with one hit from some of her charged Special Moves.
Yes, cower in fear. She loves that. 🦁

Dee Jay’s new move Jus Cool is a sway that can be followed up with a multitude of options depending on the rhythm you’re feeling. 🎧

Poised and powerful. JP can control the entire screen with ease, especially with Departure, a Special Move that places voids of power in the air. He can then activate the thorns inside or teleport at their location. 😼

PL: The newly revealed characters look to be designed with maneuvers to establish mind games and throw off the opponents timing for defending. They look like they will be strong. Manon has hit attacks that bring you closer for more set ups and a command grab too. She will be forcing people to make a decision or blindly guess to defend against her offense. Deejay has sways and a fake fireball. Attempting to react to him will be tricky and the neutral will be tough to navigate vs him cause if you react improperly you will get punish.
Below they show off more looks into World Tour mode. You can call assists from the main cast to help you on the Streets! And you build your avatar’s move set by learning from Masters in the World Tour.
Street Fighter 6 is bringing back mini-games in a big way from your past favorites to the brand new!

Ed Boon hosts “Ask Me Stuff” Session on Twitter

PL: Ed Boon, the co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series, recently hosted an “ask me stuff” session on Twitter, giving us the opportunity to ask him questions the next installment.
Boon, who is known for his active presence on social media, answered a variety of questions from fans. When asked about the possibility of a reveal, Boon teased through his answers. I’ve summarized a few of what he touched on.
- Next game reveal window
- Which DLC fighter pack we would be the most hype for
- The chances of specific characters from the MK roster returning
- His dream DLC guest character
- Long term support for the game
The “ask me anything” session a lot of juice. Below are the tweets that stood out to me the most.
PL: As you see Ed and the team are hard at work so we should expect something in the next 6 months.
Outside of evolving the gameplay even more. I hope we get to return something similar to Arcade era sounds for Mortal Kombat. Remastered of course for new gameplay. Bring back Raiden’s gibberish!
Below is a clip posted by AF0xy Grampa of how that would be if it were real and this is what I want in the next game.

Undisputed Beta: An Indie Boxing Game That Packs a Punch
PL: I got into the beta for Undisputed and I was pleasantly surprised.
As a huge fan of the boxing genre, I was excited to get my hands on the beta for Undisputed, an indie boxing game that’s currently in development. After spending some time with the game, I can confidently say that it’s shaping up to be a thrilling and intense experience that fans of the sport will not want to miss.
One of the standout features of Undisputed is its deep and intuitive gameplay. The controls are responsive and easy to learn, but mastering the various punches, combos in your offense and defending will take time and practice.
There is a lot you have to manage during a match like your boxers stamina, block gauge and damage to win. If you dance around too much, dodge a lot, or whiff a lot of punches it will tire you out making you easier to be knocked out and making your strikes less powerful.
Undisputed does a great job of emulating what its like to box but w/o the pain. See below how it is getting up from a knockdown.
The game also features a variety of well known boxers to choose from.
I picked my boy Roy Jones Jr. cause YALL MUSTVE FORGOT!!
I don’t know if there is a create a boxer mode planned but during the beta I didn’t look for it but I know it was popular in the knockout kings/fight night series and people might be looking forward to revisiting.
In terms of visuals, Undisputed beta impresses with its detailed character models and realistic environments. The game runs smoothly, but the main concern my viewers and I have is the blur effect. I understand its purpose but its also distracting at the same time. It can make matches harder to watch sometimes or maybe I need to upgrade my graphics card? I wouldn’t say that is a slight to Undisputed. The game is still in beta. Beside that the animation is top-notch. The game’s soundtrack is also worth mentioning, featuring a mix of new school and classic boxing themes.
The netcode and matchmaking was dope! Players can match up quickly and compete against each other online without much wait times at all. All it needs is more gameplay polish.
This glitch is hilarious though lol.
Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with what I’ve played of Undisputed beta. The game has all the hallmarks of a great boxing game, and the indie developer’s passion for the sport is evident in every aspect of the game. I can’t wait to see how the game continues to evolve and improve as it approaches its full release.
