Difficulty: Medium
Guardian of the God Fist Scrolls, Feng Wei, once a formidable top-tier force in Tekken 7, has undergone adjustments, yet retains his status as a potent character. Renowned for his unique snake dash, Feng boasts some of the most effective approaches in the game. The snake dash not only grants access to WS moves but also extends the reach of his oppressive ws1—a mid poke with versatile extensions—empowering him to dictate the pace and impose his strategic gameplan.
Feng’s offense is distinctive, characterized by a diverse array of lows, many of which possess high-crushing properties and yield advantageous + frames. A key tool in his arsenal is b4, a 12f mid with exceptional tracking, effectively locking opponents in place. Feng proves challenging to pressure, thanks to an array of panic moves: the 10f CH move b1 with a damaging follow-up, the evasive sidestep uf2, and the backward movement stance, back kenpo, accompanied by parries and sabakis.
Introducing a potent sidestep mixup, Feng utilizes SS4, a low launcher, complemented by various mids to keep opponents guessing. However, players must be cautious of off-axis situations, as Feng’s combos may become less reliable in such scenarios.
Pros:
- Remarkable approach capabilities with snake dash
- Diverse and effective selection of lows
- Difficult to pressure due to evasion and sabakis
Cons:
- Struggles with off-axis combos
- Lackluster counter-hit (CH) game
Recommended for players who appreciate:
- Well-rounded playstyles
- A plethora of versatile moves
- Turn-stealing tools that keep opponents on edge
