Yo! It is my Twitch Partner Anniversary today so doing a stream (live in the afternoon) to recognize it.
Tournament Progress updates:
Last weekend I got 17th in the first NA qualifier for the SNK World Championship.
I lost to Monib and Ferno BOTH who got top 8. Monib used Kain and Ferno used El Savatore!
The next online qualifiers are Aug 30th and Sept 6th. I will make sure I am ready for those match ups next time.
I recently had an epiphany on how to be more consistent in the modern titles. And at least in matches when I actively and intentionally play with this mindset/strategy it has worked very well. ( I wasn’t doing this in the recent tournament btw )
I’ve gone into detail on stream about it and have recorded what I said with a plan to upload (once I get a cool enough title and thumbnail) but if you wish to discuss it in real time with me or have questions then pop into the stream today.
Other games I am playing and interested in:
I have plans to get around to grinding Art of Fighting 3. It’s one of those old school games so the controls feel kind of clunky but its kind of fun. I guess that is the charm of it.
Sagat in SF6 has made the game even more fun than it was before and feels closer to “traditional” street fighter with him and what I mean by that he punishes every interaction in the game hard. Jump? Drive Impact? Whiff? etc all leads to crazy big damage when he is right. It makes me feel like I am playing DOA and am correct in the triangle system.
Speaking of DOA. I miss that game. I also need to take time and really break down the Virtua Fighter 6 footage that recently released. They are doing a good job with elevating combat on a visual level. I don’t think VF in general needs to change anything gameplay wise its just make the game look more appealing to spectate but in THEIR way without sacrificing the depth of the game itself. I would like for them to bring back multiple throw escape but at the same time I know it would be annoying to deal with lol.
See you on stream! And don’t forget to turn on notifications.
